Sacristan Ministry
The Sacristan Ministry is essential to the smooth and reverent celebration of the liturgy in our parish. Sacristans are responsible for preparing the sacred space and all necessary items for Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Their quiet, behind-the-scenes work ensures that the liturgy unfolds smoothly and that every detail is attended to with care and devotion, allowing the congregation and clergy to focus on worship.
Volunteers in the Sacristan Ministry handle a variety of tasks, including preparing the altar, setting out the sacred vessels, linens, and vestments, and arranging the bread and wine for the Eucharist. They also ensure that candles are lit, the Lectionary and Roman Missal are placed correctly, and that all other liturgical items are ready for use. After the celebration, sacristans are responsible for cleaning and storing the vessels and ensuring the sacristy is kept orderly and well-stocked.
If you have a heart for service and an eye for detail, consider joining the Sacristan Ministry. This role is perfect for those who feel called to support the liturgical life of the parish in a meaningful and hands-on way. Training will be provided to ensure you feel confident in your responsibilities. For more information or to volunteer, please contact the Church Office. Your dedication to this ministry will help maintain the beauty and order of our worship, enhancing the spiritual experience for all who attend.
